Meet Our marketing manager steve "papabear" conte....
Steve "PapaBear" Conte is one of our 3 owners and a major part of the face of our team here at Pyrite Illusions. Not only is he found in store on occasion, but he leads the team that sets up at the festivals, conventions and other events we vend at outside of the store! This man is BUSY!
He, like all of our team members, is always looking to learn more in many aspects of his life.
Steve spends a lot of his free time vesting in our community. He can commonly be found at meetings and functions representing the small town we are based in.
Places like The Spencer County Chamber of Commerce
and Taylorsville Spencer County Tourism.
Not to mention,
countless other nonprofits
and various causes he helps sponsor, create networking for, and is constantly raising community awareness!
Our PapaBear's main fascination and focus when it comes to stones is the UV reactive stones.
That's right, you read correctly.
Stones that NATURALLY react to UV light (blacklight), yes, that is a real thing!
He likes the mystery in them and speaks passionately when teaching others about their hidden glow.
Whether you come in store to see him, or stop by on venue for a visit, be sure to always say "Hi" to Steve "Papabear", after all, the only thing he might love more than stones is interacting with people.

Meet our co-owner olivia "lupe" sedlar...
Olivia, a.k.a. Lupe, is the resident GOAT of all things calming, relaxing and rebalancing at Pyrite Illusions. Once the weird kid whose suitcase was full of rocks coming back from vacation, she now gets to play with rocks on a daily basis, and her inner child couldn't be happier. Lupe graduated from the Louisville School of Massage in 2016 and has spent the years since honing her massage and energy skills and knowledge. Lupe has always loved learning new facts and mythology, from human anatomy and massage practices, to geology and crystal lore. Her place amongst the team here at Pyrite Illusions is pivotal, taking care of all of the in-between tasks that the rest of the team can't quite cover, from social media and graphic design, to traveling with the venue team.
Whether she's there to help you find your new stones, or help you find your energetic balance with therapeutic massage sessions in an energy enriched atmosphere, Lupe the house goat has many tricks to spiritual growth and general relaxation to share!

Meet our founder, fear...
Our founder Fear can be found in store almost daily tending to the stones and the customers.
Beyond just customer service and store staging, Fear's place in the daily function is really in the sourcing of the stones offered at Pyrite Illusions.
Every Stone offered for sale at Pyrite Illusions has been approved by her well-trained eye.
This ensures we only offer the most unique cuts of stones and the rarest selection to be found in the area!
Her passion for the stones and their energy is unmatched.... except maybe by her lack of filter.

Our team is so much larger than our in-store staff. There is an entire network of real people from all around the world that work together to make our little shop a reality. From the amazingly skilled carvers from around the world, to our small local team.
These are the many people that help us not just to have such a wonderful little store and online site,
but do things like hold down a road crew
so we can be out making contacts and
selling stones in many different places...
Our team by NO MEANS is limited
to just our shop owners you will interact with daily at Pyrite Illusions.
And we are grateful for every single one of these people...

Meet deucifer, the real boss lady...
Born December 8th 2018, Deucifer was soon adopted by Fear the following February. She instantly won the hearts of the everyone and commanded order within the team.
Most day, Deucifer can be found in store. Always eager to bark hello at every one that comes in.
(after all everyone is only at the store to see HER right?)
But be warned, she is rather shy till she gets to know you.
So, expect a lot of bark then her to hide behind one of the team...
Unless that is, you have a treat!
